I worked on each strip as a four panel unit. This was one of the few that actually ended with a proper punchline. I think I knew back then I wouldn’t be able to come up with a proper joke for each one and it was going to be a bit of a dramedy. In that it would be regularly neither dramatic or funny. Don’t say I don’t know how to give the public what it wants.
